What to Expect
We’re here to support you, whether you’re faculty, staff, or a student.
When you reach out to us:
- Our office is a protected space where you can freely discuss your concerns without worry.
- Visiting us is entirely voluntary. If you choose to meet with an Ombuds, we’ll ask you to agree to our Terms of Use (PDF) to ensure we’re all on the same page about how we can best support you.
- We offer flexible meeting options to suit your needs. You can choose to meet with us in person, by phone, or via Zoom.
- There’s no need to explain your situation beforehand. Simply let us know you’d like to schedule a meeting, and we’ll take it from there.
- Meetings last an hour, and there is no limit to the number of meetings.
- During our conversation, we’ll think out loud together, exploring your situation and identifying potential options for moving forward.
- Contacting us doesn’t set any formal processes in motion, and our discussions are completely confidential.
Our goal is simple:
We’re here to listen, support, and help you navigate your concerns at Duke University.
